I often feel so vague that I fear I might dissolve and evaporate entirely. I say this to Cath’s new boyfriend and he laughs, asking what I mean. I say that I see diffuse, abstract scenery, swirling affects, colours that gather together and then disperse. I see this whenever I read something, speak to someone, hear music, watch a movie.
My boyfriend observes that I’m pragmatic and romantic, describing me as being like, ‘ok, these are the inputs’ when I’m trying to sort something out.
